January 1st

I have this problem every year.

As the new year draws closer, I get excited. I start looking for inspiration and planning how to accomplish my goals. Then, before you know it, I'm in the thick of the busiest month of the year and I want to get started RIGHT NOW even though it is virtually impossible.

Now, let's talk about January. I started with my body for a reason. I know that feeling good physically helps me feel good in other ways. I know that being fit and healthy gives me more energy to take care of other things. Eating right and working out provides a framework for the rest of my life.

So, on January 1st I am going to:
1. Sign up for a new Spark People account. I am starting completely fresh.
2. Do a light work out, regardless of how hung over I feel.
3. Make a healthy dinner.

There we go. That's my first step. By July 4th, I would like to lose 15 lbs and have completed a couch to 5k running program. I am almost too old to wear bikinis and shorts! I need to do that now!
